Overview:

Under the direct supervision of a Supervisor assists staff Anesthesiologists in preparing and performing a variety of anesthesia preparations and procedures in the operating rooms and in remote anesthetizing locations. Acts as a member of the Anesthesia team by preparing patient or machine interface for the delivery of anesthesia and the management of the patient during surgery. Assists in the sterile and aseptic preparation of the patient for the placement of pulmonary artery, central venous and, arterial and venous monitoring lines. Obtains physiologic samples for analysis, obtains physiologic readings by using invasive monitors and provides data to the anesthesia team responsible for the Critical Care Management of the patient during the surgical process. Applies all equipment used in the operative care of the anesthetized patient and performs all duties as outlined in the Departmental guideline manual and at the direction of the Anesthesiologist, Nurse Anesthetist staff (CRNA), Critical Care Technician Manager,ACCM Operations Manager, or Lead Technician.
